The space

Enjoy the beautiful c1800’s Georgian style architecture while in creature comforts of the new renovation with high end appliances and furnished with beautiful modern fittings.

1 bedroom + 1 study self contained terrace house.
Free unlimited WIFI. Essentials including toiletries, coffee and tea will be waiting for you to help you get settled.

Bedrooms
There is 1 internal bedroom with a queen and single bed up 1 flight of stairs with a ceiling fan. There is no door separation to enclose the bedroom from the staircase. Single roll out trundle can be used as additional bedding in the bedroom.

The study sized 2nd bedroom is outside and has a single bed and is accessible externally from the back yard. This single bed can be extended to a queen size however there is no floor space after it is extended.

The living room has a fold out sofa bed and 2 x reclining chairs. Towels and bed linen provided.

Please request for bed linen if you are planning to use the sofa beds, upstairs roll out trundle or needing to extend the outdoor single bed into a queen bed 48 hours before your arrival.

Bathrooms
There is 1 full bathroom internally.
The laundry has a toilet and is accessible externally next to the study outside.

Neighborhood
Kids play ground right across the road with a public BBQ area. Barangaroo Reserve right across the road. Swimming hole using the ocean water is 3 minutes walk near Hickson Road.

Note:
The back door has an auto lock mechanism and there is no key to the back lock to open from the backyard. If you plan to use the back bedroom, the back door will need to remain unlocked or slightly opened so you can get access back into the house from the back courtyard.

HERITAGE & HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Millers Point is one of the earliest areas of European settlement in Australia, and a focus for maritime activities. Merriman Street contains housing groups of the utmost historical importance. Merriman Street contains a substantial collection of Georgian style Victorian terraces. It contains residential buildings and civic spaces dating from the 1830s and is an important example of C19th adaptation of the landscape.

Sofa bed are not made as they will take up the whole living room walking space. Please make them when you need to use them. The pillows and blanket for the sofa bed are in the bedroom cupboard.

Wilson Secure parking station at Barangaroo Hickson Road 5 minutes walk away. You can check their website for their price based on what time you want to use it. The street parking right outside the apartment is metered between 8am and 10pm and you can purchase parking tickets from the street parking meter with a maximum of 2 hours at a time. It costs approximately $5 per hour.

HERITAGE & HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
High Street at The Rocks is situated on an escarpment above Hickson Road, with views overlooking the Girri Girri steps, Nawi Cove and Barangaroo. The site is a part of a group of Federation era terraces/cottage flats (2-36 High Street) designed by Walter E. Adams, constructed c.1911 and developed by the Sydney Harbour Trust for the waterside workers as a part of the post-plague redevelopment of The Rocks, Dawes Point and Millers Point. As such it is a rare example of a comprehensive urban renewal scheme in NSW.

The space

Free WIFI – 2 bedroom, 2 storey well designed self contained home.
Basic equipped kitchen with brand new microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, rice cooker, portable electric stove, convection glass oven, pots, plates, glasses, cutlery, Nespresso machine (BYO pods). Washing machine and dryer combo is in the back courtyard.
Bathroom, dining, kitchen and living room is on the ground floor. Lounge is Arthur G Australian Designer bespoke leather couch.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. Stairs are Victorian style and have shorter treads. My 1.5yo and 3 year old kids walks down them backwards. Elderly with limited mobility will find them challenging.
Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, 1 king single bed, 1 pull out single trundle. Roller blinds to balcony are blockout material. There is a skylight in the ceiling that will let the beautiful morning sun in. Bring am eye patch if you would like to sleep in.
Bedroom 2 has 1 double bed, 1 single bed and 1 pull out single trundle.
Warm electric blankets are provided to keep you toasty in winter. Curtains are made from blockout material.

Update 20 June 2023: There is construction happening at the end of the street. Construction noise may occur during the day and work will cease in the late afternoon and night.
